Catheter comparison guide
Different body types require different catheter care, and we’ve got a variety of products and options from which to choose. Read on for descriptions.
Straight Tip
A straight tip catheter is available in a variety of sizes and lengths to fit adult and pediatric males and females.
Coudé Tip
The curved tip of a Coudé catheter can navigate around obstructions that can be caused by strictures or an enlarged prostate.
Hydrophilic
Hydrophilic catheters have a polymer coating that binds the sterile water from the pouch to the catheter surface, making it smooth and slippery. Hydrophilic catheters are designed to help reduce friction during insertion.
Closed System
A closed system is designed to help reduce the risk of urinary tract infections. Closed systems are available in straight tip or coudé.
Pre-Lubricated
Pre-lubricated catheters are ready to use right out of the package. These catheters come with a pre-applied lubricant, so the user doesn’t have to deal with the mess of applying lube.
Compact
Single-use, compact catheters are designed to take up as little room as possible. They are usually very discreet and very small. These compact catheters are great for placing in a purse or bag for future use.
Condom/External
Looking for a non-invasive option for managing urinary incontinence? Condom Catheters work outside the body to collect the urine and contain it within a collection container or drainage bag. A condom catheter is an alternative to the intermittent urethral catheter.
